WHAT IS IT?

The first of its kind, the MIDLANDS UK FORUM FOR GROWTH 2020, is the official INVESTMENT CONFERENCE FOR THE MIDLANDS. This 'economic growth' conference is led by England’s leading pan-regional partnership, the Midlands Engine Partnership, and brings together more than 150 Public and Private sector organisations from across the Midlands, the UK and overseas, to achieve the region’s vision for greater sustainable growth and economic prosperity.

With contributions and engagement from major investors from across the market, this dynamic and interactive three-day virtual event will take place on 24th - 26th November 2020, 9.30am - 1.15pm each day.

There will be a number of keynote addresses from Public & Private Sector Leaders including:

  • Sir John Peace, Chairman, Midlands Engine
  • Andy Street CBE, Mayor of the West Midlands

The Conference has three key themes:

Day One: Growth - Delivering sustainable and good growth
Day Two: Collaboration - The opportunities for better public and private collaboration
Day Three: The Future - Priorities for the future and building on success

Each day there will be a series of major investment presentations from destination partners and local authorities about key opportunities in their geography, and panel discussions about delivering good growth on topics such as:

The theme for 2020 is The Future. Ours to Make. It underpins the region's vision for greater sustainable growth and economic prosperity, and the huge scope for investment as the Midlands region builds back stronger, better and greener.

The Midlands is home to almost 11 million people – more than Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales combined. It is responsible for 22% of England's exports, generates £239 billion for the UK economy each year and has an economy the size of Denmark. It is a region that has seen significant growth over the past five years, but the potential for more is huge.

The Conference

The Midlands UK Forum for Growth focuses on Real Estate Investment and Economic Growth, and will be live streamed over two-channels:

  • Investment Zone – showcasing c £12bn investment opportunities across the region and focusing on key sectors and opportunities
  • Growth Zone – a mix of panel discussions, presentations, keynote addresses and interviews focused on strategy and policy, showcasing opportunities to deliver good, sustainable growth across the region
